This stage is perfect for beginners with little or no prior swimming experience. Children will learn to hold their breath and put their faces in the water, build trust and confidence with their instructor, and gain courage by jumping from the stairs into the water toward their instructor.
Building on the Jellyfish stage, children now float and retrieve toys underwater, perform basic strokes with instructor assistance, and learn rhythmic breathing while exploring the freestyle stroke.
Children entering the Minnow stage can float unassisted for up to five seconds, retrieve toys in four feet of water, and perform assisted back floats. Level 3 focuses on independent back floats, transitioning from a front float to a back float, kicking in streamline for 15 feet, and developing freestyle with side breathing, with support from the instructor.

At the Guppy stage, children refine their strength and technique by practicing kicks in streamline position on both front and back, developing their backstroke, swimming freestyle with unassisted side breathing, and beginning diving skills through sit dives.
Children in Lionfish classes swim unassisted and focus on learning new techniques, including breaststroke and butterfly kick, while also progressing from sit dives to knee dives.
The final stage before “Pre Team” is designed for Dolphin swimmers to become proficient in all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Swimmers also learn deck dives and refine advanced swimming techniques. Classes are available for both younger and older students. Our Parent & Me classes introduce babies under three to the water in a safe, guided environment. For older or more advanced swimmers, Pre Team and Swim Team programs continue skill development and prepare children for competitive swimming.
