Tips to Reduce the Risk of Drowning
Here are some essential steps families can take to improve water safety:
- Teach Lifesaving Swim Skills – Ensure children (and adults) have the skills to be safe in water.
- Discuss Water Emergencies – Talk with your family about what to do in an emergency situation.
- Inspect Your Pool – Make sure residential pools are properly secured.
- Install Pool Alarms – Early alerts can prevent accidents.
- Supervise at All Times – Hire a trained lifeguard or designate a responsible adult as a pool watcher during parties.
- Follow the “No One Swims Alone” Rule – Always swim with a buddy.
- Learn CPR – Include older children in CPR classes to prepare the whole family.
Through first aid training, water safety programs, and swim lessons, Premier Aquatic Services equips the local community with the knowledge and skills to stay safe in and around water. Our team also visits schools, youth conferences, and community events to educate children and educators about water risks and drowning prevention.
